Marc-Arthur Sohna

Being photosensitive, Arthur loves anything that sparkles. Beneath sequinned chainmail, he plays hide-and-seek and erects more welcoming monuments to the dead. After countless introductions to bullshit, he has decided to stop explaining what is already there. Whilst awaiting a post-colonial era, he is counting on time and on L’Abri to learn how to appear where he is least expected. Watch your step the next time you cross Carl-Vogt Boulevard; he may well arrive with great fanfare – GLITCH – in a masquerade paying tribute to all those who have been looked down upon by that name for far too long.

Marc-Arthur Sohna is a Cameroonian artist-designer who holds a Master’s degree in Space and Communication from HEAD Geneva and a Bachelor’s degree in Object and Spatial Design from ESADSE Saint-Étienne.

Faced with fragmented cultural legacies and interrupted transmissions, he gathers, reassembles and shapes new quantum archives. These are plural memories, intertwined beyond time. His approach takes shape through installations and performances drawing on West African cosmogonies and science fiction. He challenges hegemonic discourse through counter-narratives.
