Faust Perrillaud
Faust loves instruments and technologies that have a whimsical charm. They began their career as a game designer by tinkering with children’s toys before specialising in salvaging electronic waste to create their own experimental consoles. Too scattered to have just one obsession, they have cracked the code and set about incorporating all their hobbies into their practice. For L’Abri, they pulled their hurdy-gurdy out of the cupboard, fitted it with keyboards, and crafted a set of medieval music on steroids to listen to whilst their toes are tickled by artificial grass.
Faust Perillaud is an artist working at the intersection of interactive art and game design. In their practice, they emulate landscapes and imaginary species through code, while also crafting experimental consoles and custom gaming setups. They studied art at ESAAIX in France and media design at HEAD— Geneve in Switzerland, developing a practice that combines electronics and programming to create installations and reactive sculptures.
Their game design approach grew within the Pang-Pang Club, a collective focused on experimental game design and critical reflection on the gaming industry. They are now a member of Bestioles Studio, based in Geneva.
