Arlet Capella
Having learnt to dance whilst singing, having learnt Italian whilst singing, having learnt French whilst singing: Arlet has become an expert at karaoke nights. Between 11 pm and 2 am, she cooks, scrolls through her feed and feasts on reality TV. The next day, these digested images become material to play with, gestures and stories to reconstruct. Set to a backdrop of melancholic pop music, she improvises crime scenes, re-enacts film clips and recreates film sets to better shred the blue screen that serves as the sky in the Swiss version of The Truman Show in which she lives. At L’Abri, she hopes to expand her soundtrack, invite other voices to dance with her and invent new songs.
Arlet Capella Margarit, original from Barcelona, is an emerging artist, dancer and performer based in Switzerland. After finishing a dance program in LA FAKTORIA, Choreographic center, in Pamplona on 2023, she started a bachelor in Contemporary dance in La Manufacture, Haute école des arts de la scène. Where she gets her diploma in 2026. Next to her studies she has been performing and presenting some works in the scene suisse romande.
Her artistic work reunites different lines of apprenticeship that she has been gaining by diverse formations along her studies. Various studies in music makes her develop works keen to musicality and development of sound, working in conjunction with sound and body. During her studies in La Manufacture she has also developed a more performative aspect that she explores more and more in her creations.
Arlet is interested in the potentiality of performing and creating strong universes that rub the fiction and the reality. By doing collage of all the images, sounds and media that she has consumed all her life, Arlet tries to find sense and connections between the zapping images and informations that become a new form of collective memory crossing her head and body.
